The Philippine Military Academy (PMA) announced that 104 newly selected cadets, 86 male and 18 female, will form the PMA Class 2016 and that the formal Reception and Oath-Taking Rites will be held on April 1, 2012 as told in the PMA website.

The nation-wide search for the PMA Class 2016 started last August 2011 with 15,873 hopefuls taking the exam with only 1,120 passing and making it to the next phase of selection for the PMA Cadetship.
The PMAEE passers had to undergo the Complete Physical Examination (CPE) which includes medical, psychological and physical examination at the Armed Forces of the Philippines Medical Center.
The PMA Cadet Procurement Board deliberated and selected the most qualified candidates to undergo the four-year military training in the Academy and compose the PMA Class of 2016.
